Who else wants chocolate oat cookies that only take 10 minutes and requires no baking? Sign me up! Chocolate is a legal addiction in many households, so what better way to get your fix than taking a few minutes to whip up a batch of cookies.
Think of this as a great way to quickly mix up a special treat that will brighten the day of kids and grumpy adults alike! Not to mention that any nearby chocoholics will assuredly get their fix.

Adapted from Patty Piner’s soul food cookbook Sweets, these chewy chocolate cookies are made entirely on the stovetop.makes about 50 cookies
Ingredients2 cups granulated sugar8 tbsp. unsalted butter1⁄2 cup cocoa powder1⁄2 cup milk3 cups quick-cooking oats1 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans1 tsp. vanilla extract
InstructionsBring sugar, butter, cocoa powder, and milk to a boil in a 4-qt. saucepan. Cook until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in oats, walnuts, and vanilla extract. Using a 1-oz. scoop or 2 tablespoons, drop cookies onto a waxed paper-lined baking sheet; chill until firm, about 10 minutes.
